At Dandy & Rebel, we craft confidence to empower everybody to embrace their truth. Because clothing isn’t just fabric  it’s power, and we make sure yours is undeniable.

A woman with short red hair, glasses, and tattoos stands between two mannequins dressed in historical costumes in a museum exhibit. The left mannequin wears a dark blue outfit with a gray vest and cravat, and the right mannequin wears a gray dress with a high collar and buttons. The background features a colorful display with people in historical costumes. Text below the image reads "MEET THE MAKER".

I’m Avi -  the hands (and heart) behind Dandy & Rebel.

I’m a trained costume maker with a First-Class Honours degree in Costume Construction, and a deep love for sharp tailoring, rebellious silhouettes, and gender-inclusive design.

I discovered my passion for tailoring during my degree - somewhere between 18th-century pattern drafting and late-night brocade fittings, I realised I wasn’t just learning how to make clothes. I was learning how to help people feel right in them.

Now, I use those skills to create garments that affirm, celebrate, and fit - for trans folks, non-binary babes, neurodivergent bodies, and anyone tired of fashion that assumes who you are before you’ve even zipped up.

This isn’t fast fashion. This is slow, soulful tailoring - made for rebels.

Freelance Costume Work

Outside of Dandy & Rebel, I’m also available for freelance costume work — specialising in historical silhouettes, bespoke tailoring, and character-led design for theatre, drag, performance, and private clients.

From hand-sewn stays to stage-ready garments with a designer edge, I bring research, craftsmanship, and a love of storytelling to every commission.

If you're looking for a skilled costume maker with lived experience, queer sensitivity, and a strong attention to detail — we should talk.

🎭 Available for freelance costume work; pattern drafting, cutting, making, and historical builds.
